Who are we?

• Not-for-profit State of Colorado cooperative striving to lower member costs while providing high speed
internet services
• Provider of local community services: such as free broadband service to area emergency services,
smoke/fire sightings for volunteer fire departments and airplane noise monitoring
• Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) for over 400 households from Sugarloaf to Coal Creek Canyon
• Mountain residents helping fellow mountain residents facilitate internet access for personal use,
telecommuting or home-based businesses
• Host of two membership potlucks each year. Prospective subscribers are welcome to attend.
• No long-term debts – a miracle among WISPs

What is Wireless Internet Access?

• Wireless Internet Access is high-speed Internet access that works without phone lines.

What do you get?

• 7×24 unmetered broadband access regardless of the number of computers at your site
• optional static IP address
• 5 email boxes (POP3, IMAP4, webmail) with SPAM and virus filtering
• VPN support
• Limited web hosting (personal web pages, low traffic commercial websites only)
• Triple redundancy network design: Failover from bonded T1s to other bonded T1s, Failover from one
Network Operation Center (NOC) to another, Failover from one upstream provider to another. MRIC
NOCs and radio network can last for multiple hours without power. Key servers (mail and web) are off
location in a secure, power backed-up Boulder co-location facility. [Note: OSPF is our goal as the current
failovers are primarily manual.]

• No monthly data transfer caps
• Meet and work with a whole new group of interesting people
• A chance to make a difference in your local community emergency services

What does it cost?

• No annual contracts – 3% discount if paid annually
• Volunteers trade time for lower rates. No one has ever been turned away for lack of money!

Some Unsolicited Reviews

T1
Clark Chapman - Magnolia resident

“Downloads are as fast as through my office T1 line.”

Signal Intensity
Richard Garcia - Magnolia resident

“You were right about the signal intensity. It was so strong I could almost hear it.
The signal level was -64 dbm and the SNR was 36. I was able to download in a couple of minutes security updates for my Internet Explorer that would have taken about 4 hours on my 56k modem. -Wow!”

In Love
Jill Nazimek - owner of Katie's Bumpers

“I am in love. This is the best thing that has happened at 200 Skyline in a while. I am saving so much time and able to
do a lot more without pulling my hair out.”

How Nice
Ilse Gayl - Magnolia resident

“As one of your newer users, I just want to say how nice this network is. I'm very satisfied with how it is serving us.
Thank you and all your mric.coop friends!”

Pleased
Mark Lindberg - Coal Creek Canyon resident

“I've been using MRIC as my ISP for a couple of months now and I'm really pleased with both the reliability and the speed. Don't forget to mention that a second phone line for dialing out costs about $40/month...well if you have MRIC you could get rid of that second line...-only $10 more! MRIC has stayed up during some heavy storms when the phone service went down, too.”

Wonderful
Randy Pierce - Coal Creek Canyon resident

“Wonderful!, I've been surfing all afternoon. For the first time I can actually watch a news video online at home!”

Can't Believe
Paul Ganci - Coal Creek Canyon resident

“I can’t believe we went five years without it…!”

Great
Patrice Barber - Mosaic Lending and Taylor Made Wealth Coach:

“Overall your service has been great! Especially compared to professionally managed alternatives. We have used a conditioned T-1 provided by Qwest via Eschelon (worked well but not as fast as your service) and have used Direct Way satellite dish with a lot of trouble, as well as CBeyond (similar speed but more expensive). We settled on your service because it saves our company over $1800 per year by using land lines for phone and your service for internet.”

Surprise
Gregg and Andrea Bell - Magnolia residents

“Overall a great service and good price. I often wonder how long all the all volunteer system can grow, but the good reliability has been a pleasant surprise.”

Dedicated
Geoffrey Hoppe - founder of The Crimson Circle

"MRIC called on Sunday afternoon, even though we didn't expect to hear from anyone until Monday. MRIC spent at least an hour on the phone we me, patiently taking me through triage with the equipment. When all failed, MRIC was here within 30 minutes to replace the radio! I've never experienced such dedicated customer service in my life!"
